KMV owns 100% of the Austrian Waldquelle

Karlovarské minerální vody company has completed the Waldquelle Kobersdorf acquisition. It has bought last 25.1% shares of this leading Austrian producer of mineral water from the original owner - Raiffeisen Landesbank Burgenland (RLB). For that KMV has become the only shareholder of the Waldquelle. Successive acquisitions lasted one year and half, and finished on 30th November 2008.

"We pass over Waldquelle to the right hands," said Julius Marhold, the General-Director of the RLB. "The KMV group know-how and international experience meant for Waldquelle in acquisition period a significant contribution," he added. Herbert Czech, the Waldquelle Kobersdorf General-Director, confirms: "Compared with the last year our beverage production increased by 6.7%."

Alessandro Pasquale, the KMV General-Director, commented the 100% ownership in Waldquelle as: "In context of existing successful cooperation the Waldquelle managed to increase its share in the Austrian food market at 17.1% and consolidate its second position."

The Waldquelle has been operating on the Austrian market since 1830 and it produces natural and flavored mineral water and soft drink of grape-vine named Traubisoda. The KMV is the largest producer of mineral and spring water in the Czech Republic and its products are exported to 20 countries worldwide.
